On a chilly December morning in 2023, the PIFster team bundled up and headed to the Trebek Hope Mission Center in Northridge, California. Our mission? To join forces with Project Pop Drop and help distribute much-needed food to those experiencing homelessness. It was a day filled with compassion, connection, and the heartwarming realization that even small acts can make a big difference.
Project Pop Drop, much like She Is Hope LA, is a shining example of how ordinary people can create extraordinary change. Founded by a dedicated husband-and-wife team, this organization is fueled by the success of their office supply company, Platinum International Products and Services. Every month, they "pop drop" into various shelters and community programs across Los Angeles, delivering food, clothing, and other essentials. Their commitment to serving those in need resonated deeply with the PIFster community, who voted them as the recipient of our March 2024 donation.
As we arrived at the Trebek Hope Mission Center, we were greeted by the Project Pop Drop team and a sea of eager faces. The atmosphere was charged with a mix of anticipation and gratitude. We quickly rolled up our sleeves and got to work, unloading boxes of food, organizing donations, and preparing meals.
Throughout the day, we had the opportunity to interact with the individuals we were serving. Their stories were a poignant reminder of the challenges faced by those experiencing homelessness.
